The Aurora II is an updated model of Fighter Pilot's favorite can. Designed to be carried easily with minimal size and weight, the Gemtech engineers made one of the smallest silencers to day. Threaded on both ends, the Aurora II is compatible with both metric and standard thread pitches. Built from 70-75T6 aluminum, the internals consist of 8 neoprene wipes and 3 petroleum jelly filled baffles. Because it weights only 3.5 ounces, it does not require a booster to run on standard pistols. Due to the wiped design, it can not be used with hollow point or expanding ammunition.
The Gemtech Aurora II can be re-packed by Gemtech for $29.99 after use.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
The Gemtech Aurora II is in a league of it's own. It's smaller, by a huge margin, than any other 9mm silencer available. It's not a silencer that many will want to use recreational, but is fantastic at concealed defensive use, or in the event an animal must be dispatched. At only 3.5" long, it easily disappears in a pocket or even on the end of the pistol. Because of it's weight, no pistons are needed. For mounting, one side is threaded 1/2x28 and the other M13. This allows it to be mounted easily to any threaded 9mm pistol on the market. After a magazine or so, the wipes will be destroyed and it will require repacking to return it's performance.
